Going On To College 2005
CKF provided Families In Schools with $10,000 toward the funding of their Going On To College program. The program works with fifth grade students and their parents to set higher academic goals and help them connect to available support systems in an effort to keep them focused on a future college education.
Tallon's Tower 2004
The Chaka Khan Foundation joined Cure Autism Now as a research partner on a project that is developing a teaching method for non-verbal children with autism to learn to read and write so that they can communicate with their parents and teachers. CKF actively supports research that will help improve the lives of people with autism through treatment. In addition, the Chaka Khan Foundation invested over $60,000 in a project called the Tallon's Tower Grant named after Chaka's nephew, Tallon McCrary, who is autistic. |
